Why not “AC180 vs RIVER 3”? Different classes. EcoFlow’s US store lists the RIVER 3 Plus at 286 Wh / 600 W, about a quarter of the AC180’s 1,152 Wh. EcoFlow’s ~1 kWh, 1,800 W counterpart is the DELTA 3 Plus (1,024 Wh / 1,800 W). A small-class table (RIVER 3 Plus vs Elite 30 V2) is near the end.
Short version: the AC180 has more Wh (1,152 vs 1,024). The DELTA 3 Plus is lighter and takes twice the solar input. It also switches to battery faster and can expand.

Flags: BLUETTI publishes two AC180 weights, so plan around the higher one. EcoFlow’s spec table says X-Boost 2,200 W, though marketing copy on the same page cites higher examples. Both boost modes target resistive/heating loads (BLUETTI says Power Lifting is not for air conditioners or washing machines). They add no continuous capacity for motors or compressors.
What the numbers mean in use
Capacity → runtime
BLUETTI’s AC180 FAQ gives a runtime formula: capacity × 90% depth of discharge × 85% inverter efficiency ÷ (load + ~15 W self-consumption), so a 100 W load runs about 7.66 hours. EcoFlow publishes no equivalent on the DELTA 3 Plus page, so for like-for-like planning we use this site’s default 1.3× margin:
| AC180 | DELTA 3 Plus | |
|---|---|---|
| ÷ 1.3 planning margin | ≈886 Wh of load | ≈788 Wh of load |
| 60 W of devices (lights, laptop, fan) | ≈14.8 h | ≈13.1 h |
That’s arithmetic, not measured runtime. BLUETTI notes the formula doesn’t fit compressor loads like fridges. Use daily Wh instead (fridge 24-hour guide).
Recharging: wall, sun, car
| Source | AC180 | DELTA 3 Plus |
|---|---|---|
| Wall (mfr claim) | ≈1.3–1.8 h at 1,440 W Turbo | 56 min at 1,500 W |
| Solar (mfr claim, ideal sun) | ≈2.8–3.3 h at 500 W | 70 min at 1,000 W |
| Our math: 400 W effective, 1.25× derate | ≈3.6 h | ≈3.2 h |
| Car | BLUETTI lists ≈12–12.5 h at 100 W, ≈6.3–6.8 h at 200 W | 1.3 h only with an 800 W car power source (EcoFlow sells an 800 W Alternator Charger bundle) |
A plain 12 V socket is roughly a 12 V × 10 A circuit, so EcoFlow’s 800 W figure depends on the accessory. More solar math: 200 W vs 400 W charts.
UPS / pass-through
Both support pass-through charging. BLUETTI’s comparison table (on its Elite 100 V2 page) lists the AC180 at 20 ms. EcoFlow lists the DELTA 3 Plus at <10 ms. Whether that gap matters depends on your device, and neither brand guarantees compatibility with any specific computer or medical device. CPAP users: see our CPAP travel guide and ask your clinician.
Noise and handling
The dB figures come from different test conditions, so they aren’t directly comparable. BLUETTI’s FAQ says the AC180 must stay upright and is not waterproof. EcoFlow’s IP65 rating covers the DELTA 3 Plus battery pack, not the whole station, so keep both out of rain.
Who should pick which
- AC180 if you want the larger nameplate Wh, mostly run AC loads, are fine with 500 W of solar, don’t need expansion, and can carry ~35–37 lb. Compare live prices (both brands discount often).
- DELTA 3 Plus if carry weight, faster UPS switchover, big solar arrays (up to 1,000 W), high-output vehicle charging, or future expansion matter more than raw Wh.
- Want BLUETTI with DELTA 3 Plus-style traits? The BLUETTI Elite 100 V2 lists 1,024 Wh, 1,000 W solar input, ≤10 ms UPS, and 25.3 lb. Full three-way breakdown: DELTA 3 vs Explorer 1000 v2 vs Elite 100 V2.
Small-class aside: RIVER 3 Plus vs Elite 30 V2
The like-for-like ~290 Wh units:

|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 286 Wh | 288 Wh |
| AC output | 3 outlets, 600 W (surge 1,200 W; X-Boost 1,200 W) | 600 W total; 1,500 W lifting |
| Solar input | 220 W | 200 W (12–28 V, 10 A) |
| USB-C | 1 × 100 W | 1 × 100 W + 1 × 140 W |
| UPS | <10 ms | ≤10 ms |
| Cycle life | 3,000 to 80% | 3,000+ to 80% |
| Weight | 10.4 lb | 9.48 lb / 4.3 kg |
